Job 1
9 So Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”
12 And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.”
So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
We need to bring the Lord glory when we suffer to prove the Liar is a liar. Satan’s accusation against Job was that if his blessings were removed, he would no longer bless the Lord.
But, we that have been bought with a price, serve Him for what He has done for us – removed our sins as far as the east is from the west, made us whiter than snow – not for what He has given us.
At our lowliest, lost estate He reached down and brought us up. Our hearts should rejoice, first and foremost, in that. Yes, all good things come from the Father above, but good things are on loan for our service to Him. Our spouses, our children, our homes, our cars…..all really are His to do with as He pleases. And if it pleased Him to bruise His only Begotton Son, truly sometimes it does please Him to bruise the ones that were adopted into the family as well.
In those times, we must look to our earthly example, Job, and our Heavenly example, the Lord Jesus Christ, to submit to whatever the Lord allows, and prove to the wicked one that we are His and we will bring Him glory. Let’s prove the Liar a liar and bow our knees to the smiting Hand that belongs to our Father.
Job has just lost all his wealth and all his children. The blows came hard and fast, striking his sustenance and those dearest to his heart. His immediate reaction to the Potter’s Hand?
Verse 20, “Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshipped.”
He worshipped. He purposely and respectfully bowed in surrender and worshipped the One who had blessed him tremendously. But, Job’s response wasn’t concerning the gifts, but the Giver.
Verse 21, “And he said: Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.”
Oh, that we might bite our tongues and bow the knee when the trials and tribulations first come! What a blessed lesson to learn, to not chafe against the yoke. May our eyes always be on the Lord and His dealings with us, trusting and obeying His character and bringing Him the glory due His Holy Name. May we be like Job.
Verse 22 “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.”
What we feel we need to say to God about our present situations, we need to say in prayer and humility. We cannot not sin against Him and prove the Liar true – that we bless the Lord only because of what He has given us in physical aspect.
In all this, may we sin not, nor charge God foolishly.
‘Cuz the Liar is a liar, and we worship in Spirit and Truth.

These words come even more powerfully coming from you. You have lived out this truth (I'm sure not perfectly, but still), worshiping Him in truth regardless of the situation.Thank you so much for this encouragement. So often my response is to grumble immediately and praise later from repentance. I need to skip that middle step and jump right to worship, no matter what!Thank you~Erin

Good timing. I want to believe those lies often. I'm praying God proves the Liar is a Liar through me.
