Luke 18:1, “And He spoke a parable unto them, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”
We need to rely on the Lord’s strength, not our own.
Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Only when we pass that baton of human weakness onto the Lord, can He continue the race for us.
2 Corinthians 12:9, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
We can’t use His strength without the PERSON of that strength – the Lord Jesus Christ.
We can’t use His strength without reading the PAGES about that strength – the Word of God.
We can’t use His strength without the POWER of that strength – the Holy Spirit.

Awesome, as usual. :)Thanks for the encouragement. I always seem to need to hear it all.

"It's as if all the enemy has to do is put his hand to his weapon and we jump back, wondering why WE would be attacked, wondering why OUR life is being troubled, and we shrivel up in imagined defeat."This gives me a great picture of a soldier who has been daydreaming on the battlefield and who suddenly wakes up when the bayonet is pointed at him. We take it as our perogative that things will go our way, that life should go the way we planned it. However, "A man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." (Prov. 16:9)Assuming my life will be perfect is like daydreaming my way through a battlefield: dangerous, and ultimately aggravating. Thanks for the insight, Mindy.

I have been combating fear this week (and weeks prior) by reminding myself of David. When he knew he needed to defeat the lion he didn't wonder if God would save him, he KNEW. He didn't wonder if God would help him slay Goliath, he KNEW. Why don't I have this faith? Why am I faint when I experience sufferings? I want to be bold for God, but not arrogant. I remind myself that God is in control and he already has the victory — whom then shall I fear? Thank you for more scripture references. Loved it Mindy. How are you? Any results yet?
