44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.
At the moment of mankind’s greatest sin, hating and rejection the Savior of the World, their weapons had no power. They could not overpower the One who willingly was going to die for their sins, and the One who would willingly give up His own spirit. He alone had the power over sin and death and hell, even His own death. They could not take His life, He gave it.
But our Sword, our written, God-breathed Word of God, has power over all the powers of evil. It has the power to convert our souls through faith and give us a home in Heaven.
Our Sword has the power to kill the flesh, the Old Man, and give life to the New Man.
Our Sword has power because their swords didn’t.
Those wicked men foolishly went to the Savior with their swords, expecting a battle.
We wise believers need to go into battle for the Savior with our Sword.
