Picture Your Blog with Live Writer

cool tools 008_thumb[8]

Last week I stuck a song in your head.
Is it still there?

Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin alive, stayin alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin alive.

I  told you about a staying alive in your blogging with a Cool Tool.

Doncha’ just love

Windows Live Writer?

You didn’t start using it yet?

I know you’re busy.
I know you don’t like learning new stuff.
But ya’ gotta’ try it, your blog will LOVE it!
Actually, I wasn’t going to bring this up in public,
but, your blog….ahem… NEEDS it.

Wikipedia calls WLW a “desktop blog-publishing application.”
I just call it a Cool Tool that helps you write blogs
without huffing and puffing
and slapping your desk in frustration.

Today is the fun stuff.
We’re gunna’ learn how to do picture stuff.

Ever wonder how other people do cool stuff with their pics?
You can now be that blogger with the cool visuals.

It’s time to be a
Big Girl Blogger

The steps to uploading a picture are similar to other environments.

Insert – Picture – Choose Source(computer or web)

I uploaded  from my Montana file, can ya’ tell from the Big Sky?

The cool truck my little brother bought last year.
I put this pic on Facebook and discovered years ago
it used to belong to the dad of my Junior High best friend.

This is a special truck.
But even this beauty can use a facelift.

Click on your picture once so the the little squares will appear, along with the FORMAT tab.
Don’t go looking for the FORMAT tab without clicking up the little squares.
You won’t find it!

Now, you’re ready to create.

Typical picture functionality, but all in one place.

I use medium size.

Easy, right?

Look at the interesting shapes and borders.

Oooh, baby, your blog is losing its boring already.

Choose Watermark and this dialogue box pops up.
See, ya’ make your watermark on your pics.
There are too many fonts to count.

Note to self:
”Self, stop using Calibri for your watermark.
There are too many cool fonts to use.”

Ya’ know how I copied all the dialogue boxes for the tutorial?

I snipped it.  Remember the Snipping Tool Tutorial?
(click on image to read the tutorial)
My online scissors the kids can’t steal works well, doesn’t it?

Watermarked pics on Pinterest leads people to your blog.

It might slow people down on using your pics without permission, too.
I said might because some people aren’t nice
and would just crop off your watermark.
Live Writer can’t help you bad people.  Sorry.

Picture Effects  to add energy to your pictures.

Picture your blog with cool pictures.

Uploading videos is easy, too.

Could it be any easier? Nope.

Could those kids be any cuter? Nope.
Cutest grandkids in the world.
In the whole, wide world.
Yea, I’ve blogged about this before.

Gramps and I took all three kids to the Mall.
We bought them Build-A-Bears.
Then we bought them bags of candy.
Then we brought them home hyper and sticky.
I love being a Gwamma.

And since your grandkids aren’t as cute as mine,
sorry if the truth is so painful, I’ll pray for you,
you’ll have to find another way
to your make your blog look better.

Picture how

Montana Sunset

your blog

can look with

Live Writer.

Since you are so smart about this blogging/computer stuff, it would come pretty easily for you. May you and your family continue to heal!

So sorry you can’t get it going! It might be needing to update your computer, you need to be using a newer version of Internet Explorer. Windows Live is a package of cool tools, including photo editing stuff. That might be what you’re seeing. Do you SKYPE? Sometimes you can share a screen and I might be able to walk you through. I have company coming tomorrow, so let’s try to work this out next week if ya’ wanna’.

Well, since you have a techie husband, ask him to do it. That’s what I did. Then, you don’t start launching from it until you’ve been able to play around and get comfortable with it.
